Oxford Street in the heart of London is the most famous shopping street in the world. Debenhams, D H Evans, John Lewis and Selfridges all have large stores on Oxford Street.

The Arbat or Arbat Street is in the historic center of Moscow. It begins at Arbatskaya square, not far from the walls of the Moscow Kremlin. From this point the Arbat runs southwest and ends at Smolenskaya Square. Now the Arbat is a pedestrian street about one kilometer long. The Arbat is the oldest streets of the Russian capital. It has been known since XV century as one of the main streets of Moscow and a home to many craftsmen. Today there are a lot of shops, cafes, theatres and street entertainments on the Arbat. You can also find many painters and musicians on this street.

Nevsky Prospect is the main street in the city of Saint Petersburg in Russia. It takes its name from the Alexander Nevsky Lavra, the monastery which stands at the eastern end of the street, and which in turn commemorates the Russian hero knyaz Alexander Nevsky. Major sights include the Stroganov Palace, the huge Kazan Cathedral, the Singer Bookhouse, Elisseeff Emporium, a monument to Catherine the Great, the Great Gostiny Dvor, the Russian National Library, the Anichkov Bridge with its horse statues, and the Singer House. The Nevsky today functions as the main thoroughfare in Saint Petersburg. The majority of the city’s shopping and nightlife takes place on Nevsky Prospect.
